Format:           3 round Quads                          Players split into groups of 4 by rating                     

There may also be a Swiss 3 rounds

 Time control:  Game 90 min. 5 sec. delay – G/90;d5

 Prizes:             $60 for first prize in each Quad                $60 for first in Swiss, 2 nd prize in Swiss $30

Format. The tournament will be in three sections (grades K-3, K-6, and K-8).
Each participant will play 5 games. The “Swiss System” will be used for pairings, so that players with roughly equal scores will play each other. One hour will be allotted for each game; if a chess clock is used, each player will have 30 minutes for the full game.
Prizes. In each section, trophies will be awarded to:
*Top 3 individuals
*Top 3 teams (the 4 highest-scoring students from a school count as the team)
All players will receive souvenir medallions.
Schedule. Please be present by 8:30 AM for opening prayer and announcements. Games will begin at (approximately) 9:00, 10:15, 11:30, 1:00, and 2:15. Lunch and snacks will be on sale at the tournament site. Prizes will be awarded after the last round ends, at about 3:30 PM.
Registration. Fill out the attached form and mail it in as early as possible. Photocopy it for additional entrants. The entry fee is $15.00 per player if postmarked by February 19th, or $20.00 per player after this date. Entries must be received by February 26th. There will be no onsite registration.
Other information. Beginners and experienced players are both welcome. Please bring a chess set and board, plus a chess clock if you have one. Equipment is not supplied. Younger children must be supervised by an adult.
